I came here via Alyson's biz blog. Your artwork is really unique; I've never seen anything like it before. I'm sure the Pacific Northwest must provide you with wonderful inspiration. Im curious how you treat the feathers for them to hold paint.

Hi Sue,

I popped over to your blog - your mandalas are exquisite!!

I spray the feathers with a bit of Krylon acrylic spray, which has about the same effect as hairspray but provides ~just enough~ stiffness to make them easier to work with. The dangers of splitting are always there though, it just takes practice and a light touch.

Your work is amazing! I spent quite a bit of time going through your website to see the different work you do.

I really enjoy this!! Hope you did well at the show.
